I would first like to thank everyone who has stuck with us over the past little while. I also would like to apologize that there hasnt been anything new recently on this site. Over the past couple months there has been alot of stuff going on from the birth of my second daughter to the passing of my father and all kinds of other stuff mixed in. Always Fresh will be back in full force very soon including the next issue of the magazine dropping in the near future. Also if you are on facebook PLEASE join the Cross Out Cancer page.

G20 Stencil Graffiti by Posterchild – Harper’s Army

This past weekend Toronto played host to the G20 Summit, which also hosted large groups of protesters and police. This stencil was created by the street artist Posterchild to poke fun of Harper’s army of police officers attacking the peaceful protesters.

Posterchild’s Comments:

“I don’t like you Mr. Harper.

I don’t like what you’ve done to my democracy, my country, and my city.

You have a reputation as a bulldog- a bully. But you are a coward, man. When democracy gets too hot for you, you prorogue parliament or mobilize a unprecedented private security force- along with unprecedented powers. Your sniveling cowardice is detrimental to our democracy and I have had enough.

In a more truthful world, perhaps the private security you brought in -and gave me and my fellow citizens the bill for- would brandish shields bearing your name, not the misnomer “Police”. It is an abuse to the good name that the Police of Toronto have worked hard to build to call them that.

In a more just world, perhaps you would be forced to work that security yourself.”

Calling all producers again… having a production battle on the show.. to be judged on the July 10th show… deadline is July 9th @ Midnight… & the prize is… music. the following artists are donating copies of their albums as part of the prize.. also The Messenger is willing to put out an ep with the winning producer & handle promotions & you … get 25-50 copies to do what you’d like with… sell them.. use them as a promotional tool.. whatever’s cleaver… he also submitted a copy of his latest album.. so did The Shottas, The Mighty Apos, Icon The Mic King, Def 3, Noah 23, Diamond Minds, Neferiu Records & Top Left Recordings.. I’m also waiting to hear back from a few other artists.. so there may be a few others as well… Only rule is you can only use what’s in the sample packs to create your beat(s) and the first 2 minutes of each beat will be what each beat is judged by… i think i’m going to limit it to 2 submissions per artist… entry is free… peace & respect!!! & good luck… send all submissions to perverteddigger@gmail.com

The Souls Artists were the original grafitti crew from the Upper West Side of Manhattan who spawned New York’s first skate crew in the 70’s called Zoo York. This segment is a good history lesson about what the city was like back in the day.

Tourists who visit Los Angeles often visit Grauman’s Chinese Theatre to see the footprints of the stars. Now they can also dip their toes into gangsta culture.

For the last six months, an L.A. company, LA Gang Tours, has been offering tours of the city’s hottest gang spots, including the county jail, the birthplace of the Black Panther Party and a lab where graffiti artists ply their trade.

The tours are priced at $65 and, along with seeing the sights, polo shirt-wearing tourists can also take photos with reformed gang members and ask them questions about the thug life.
